This might be the end of my FRS#3425-project...
...but it could also be the start of something new. It is a bit same same but different...
takze zluta replika WRC je prestavba z obyc 2.0. Vsechen tuning co nacpal do modreho RS (nemuze legalne na cestu po vsech tech upravach) presune na zlute. A modre RS v original stavu proda. S tim ze zlute je uz brano jako prestavba a muze s tim delat vicemene co chceHi guys!
I completely understand your reaction, but I would also like to add that it is not my intention to end my hobby forever. I promise! I am in the middle of a quite hectic/busy part of life, but I will not leave you…
I don't know how to explain it in text/english, but in Sweden there are quite big issues with having a tuned RS road legal. Especially with my setup…
Once a year you need to restore it to pass the MOT/yearly emission tests, which is a real pain in the XXXX.
But there is one way of doing it, and that is to have it registered as "rebuilt vehicle". One way of reaching this status is to build a RS-replica. And what is a RS-replica?! Well, you take a standard Focus 1.6 or 2.0 and exchange the engine, gearbox, ECU-system and brakes with parts from a Focus RS. Then a certain certification society checks the car and if passed then register the car as a rebuilt vehicle. A rebuilt vehicle could also include other modifications done, e.g. uprated suspension (coilovers, bushes etc.). It could also have bigger brakes and roll cage installed, and the vehicle is still road legal and the police could do nothing about it.
Hmm... I guess you start to see the meaning of this crazy idea?!
The yellow Focus is present registered as a standard Focus 2.0. The previous owner sold the car to me due to lack of time (which I have, NOT ). My intentions are to strip both cars and restore the FRS to original (and sell it) and then move all fun parts to the yellow one. Any leftovers will be sold to fund the new project...
The yellow one requires some body work (under, inside and engine bay) to meet my expectations and demand. Maybe change of color too. But it is a very nice candidate since it has a lot of parts needed to the RS.
I hope this makes it a bit clearer, even if you don't agree on it...
